COVID-19: Important Update

Following the latest statement by the UK Government regarding the emergence of the new COVID-19 variant, many governments have now closed their borders to UK people and goods. Currently this includes many EU countries, Canada and India and the list is growing. In addition, there is also large scale disruption of service into the UK.

Several countries have also banned flights arriving from the UK and so our usual options and routings for transiting your consignments to/from the EU have been severely impacted.

As a result, we would advise the following:

  • If your shipments to EU countries are non-essential and can be postponed, we recommend postponing the dispatch until such time as the ferry ports ban is lifted and flight options re-open, especially if the shipment is temperature-controlled.
  • If your shipment is critical and must proceed, we can arrange charter flights (subject to availability). Alternatively, it may be possible to fly on a '2-leg' flight via countries outside the UK and EU – please check with your local office for all possible options.
  • Domestic shipments within the UK are not affected and can proceed as normal. However please consider whether your consignee will be open, staffed and able to take delivery on your planned delivery date.

For shipments going to countries outside the EU which have also banned direct flights from the UK, we have other ‘2-leg’ flight options available via countries outside the UK. Please check with your local office for availability.

Our logistics experts are carefully monitoring the situation, but at present extreme caution should be shown when looking to transport materials into or out of the UK.

As always, we are here to support you and will keep you informed as the situation develops. Please contact your local office and we will do whatever it takes to help you.
