At Biocair, we know better than most how complicated it can be to deal with risk. After all, our business is based on safely transporting the temperature-controlled and sometimes dangerous materials required for life sciences. As a result, we wanted to contact our customers, around the world, to inform them of the steps we are taking in relation to COVID-19. Our first priority is the safety of our employees and our clients, but equally important is to ensure the continued transportation of materials upon which so many depend for their health and wellbeing.

On the personal level - hygiene and safety

While there are still many question marks about the nature of COVID-19 and its spread, we can be certain that good hygiene is essential. We already have total confidence in our packaging systems, and we are ensuring that all our personnel in high risk areas have masks, gloves and extra hygiene protection including access to soap and water or hydro-alcoholic solutions. It is paramount that we protect those who keep our global logistics network running and we are committed to doing exactly that, whilst monitoring conditions and guaranteeing safety - for example we have introduced extra quarantine measures for packages from high risk areas.

In addition we have instituted virtual meetings wherever possible in our workplaces and, because we have people working around the world, we are giving people returning from high risk areas all the tools and resources they need to work from home in self-isolation for 14 days.

Global thinking - local action

Our Emergency Response Team (ERT) is actively managing risk by receiving, assessing and responding to new information worldwide. Drawing on World Health Organisation advice for global scale preparedness, we also work closely with the relevant public health bodies around the world to be ready for any eventuality.

Here in a crisis - ready to help

The vital work we support does not stop in times of crisis. Clinical trials, organ transportation, the very attempts to produce a vaccine for COVID-19 are all underpinned by a global logistics system that moves live materials safely and swiftly. And of course, the continued production of life-saving pharmaceuticals and treatments depends on the movement of active ingredients from around the world. We are proud to be a part of this and because we know that systems are being disrupted, we aim to provide the best service we can, including - as always - giving you a dedicated Biocair contact who will oversee your transportation from beginning to end.

Our Operations team are on hand to answer any questions you have about COVID-19 from a logistical perspective, so that you can continue to work without worrying about your materials.

Kind regards,

Chris Cooke, CEO
