The company has built up a unique, client-centric approach by employing scientists in front-line logistics positions and assembling a team of best-in-class industry experts in quality, cold chain and regulatory compliance amongst others. Biocair focuses on providing the most comprehensive service options available whilst delivering flexible, tailored, cost effective logistics solutions to all clients.
Biocair was founded in 1986 as a specialist logistics provider to the pharmaceutical and biotech industries in Cambridge UK. As we continued to grow, we adapted to the world around us – launching our first website in 2000 and developing our own bespoke operating system – which we continue to use today.
In 2002 we started our global expansion and opened our first American office in Boston. This enabled us to grow our relationship with our customers, by offering a deeper knowledge and understanding of regulations in the US.
In 2009 we furthered our expansion and opened offices in Shanghai, China to establish our first location in Asia.
In 2012 Biocair was acquired by the DPD group (a LaPoste company), who now own 100% of the shares. Biocair remain operating as Biocair International and will now benefit from enhanced supplier relationships and improved routes and networks across the globe.
Biocair finished 2018 by opening new facilities at London Heathrow (LHR), Brussels and Johannesburg, as well as developing its existing installations in Frankfurt and Shanghai. We also opened up new offices across the US, including Los Angeles, New York and Raleigh.
We started 2019 by expanding our cryogenic services for cell and gene therapy and by adding new locations to the Biocair network of liquid nitrogen facilities worldwide, including several locations across the US, continental Europe and Asia.
